Hello Year 6!
Welcome to 2021! It's certainly not the start to the new term that we were expecting but we have got lots of really exciting things planned, so we hope you will continue to engage in home learning as much as possible.
Each day, we will upload English and maths work, as well as work associated with one of our foundation subjects. This term, our topic is Blood Heart, so you can expect to learn lots about the circulatory system. Throughout the term, you may require certain resources in order to attempt some of the foundation subjects. We will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible and try our best to suggest items that you will hopefully have in your home already. If you are finding any work challenging, just let us know and we will support you in whatever way we can.
You can send us your work using our e-mail addresses below. Please only send one e-mail a day with all of your work in and we will do our best to get back to you in the same day. At various points, we will be in school working with the children of critical workers and therefore will be unable to respond to e-mails on these days. At the moment, we are in school on the following days:
Miss Facey - Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th January
Mr Catchpole - Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th January
If you need any support on a day where your class teacher is in school, then please contact Mrs Gooden.
Mr Catchpole - email@example.com
Miss Facey - firstname.lastname@example.org
Mrs Gooden - email@example.com (only to be contacted if your class teacher is unavailable).
Looking forward to catching up with you all soon!
Mr Catchpole and Miss Facey.
The children in Year 6 have created some beautiful artwork this week to help brighten up Willow Ward at Darenth Valley Hospital. It looks fantastic and we are sure that it will help to put a smile on the children's faces.
Thank you for being so thoughtful and compassionate.
We have absolutely LOVED our topic on Hola Mexico! We've been incredibly busy this term, making our own salsa, panpipes and our own Maya glyphs. We also worked well in groups to create a poster for the Mexican Tourist Board, where we researched the most exciting places to visit and planned a 4-day tour.
Take a look at some of our photos below to see what fun we have had!
