28th April 2020
Welcome. It's Tuesday, 28th April 2020.
It’s Mr Keep here. Good morning, everyone. May the Lord be with you.
We are Bishop Ridley, we are One Community, Learning & Growing Together, Sharing the Love of God.
Our song for today is called I Won’t Be Afraid

Our Bible passage for today is 2 Corinthians 9: 11
You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion.
The Bible encourages Christians to be generous and that God will help them and provide all they need to do this.
Our thought for the day
Many people in the world are feeling very sad and worried about the Corona virus. I wonder how you are feeling about it?
It is ok to feel sad and worried. Talk to someone you trust about how you are feeling. It is good to share your feelings with others. Remember how we talk about “Tell 5 People” if there is something on your mind.
Something you can do when you are feeling sad or worried is to remember all the things you have in your life that you are thankful for. It can help you to feel less upset or anxious.
Why don’t you give it a try?
Set a 60 second timer and see how many things you can list that you're thankful for - Ready....? Go!
You might have started by thinking about the people around you (like your family and friends). You might also think about the objects and possessions in your life such as your home, the food you have eaten, your toys.
As you think about these people and things, you might like to say a thank you prayer to God. Across the country, there have been many acts of generosity, with people going above and beyond to help others: delivering shopping or medicines, speaking to people who are lonely or volunteering to work in our hospitals and schools.
I wonder if you have seen people being generous where you live?
How else could you be generous?
Can you be generous with your time? What might this look like? Could you spend time with a younger brother or sister and read to them? Could you make cards to cheer up people who are lonely?
Remember how we often say that although each of us can feel small, we can each have a really positive influence on those around us.
A prayer for today
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.
