29th April 2020
Welcome. It's Wednesday, 29th April 2020.
It’s Mr Keep here. Good morning, everyone. May the Lord be with you.
We are Bishop Ridley, we are One Community, Learning & Growing Together, Sharing the Love of God.
Our Christian Value this half-term is Love.
Our song for today
I have planned to share this song for a long time, but without Mrs Horlock to help us learn the different parts it never seemed the right time. The song is written in a mix of Swahili & English and is called "God Is With Us Forever." I hope you enjoy it:

Our Bible passage for today
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other
(Ephesians 4:32)
Our thought for the day
Do you find it easy to forgive people? It can be really hard, especially if that person has deeply hurt your feelings.
Sometimes it can be hard even if someone has done something by accident. Yesterday my children got really upset when my youngest daughter accidentally knocked over their Lego tower. Once our emotions start to take over, it can be difficult to see things from a different point of view.
I wonder how many times people have forgiven you? How does being forgiven make you feel?
Have a look at the verse above and think about what this verse teaches Christians about how to treat others?
A prayer for today
Today, I would like to spend a little bit more time thinking about our prayer.
I wonder how many of you have been baking recently? Have you come across a measurement in a recipe called a ‘teaspoon’. It is often shown as ‘tsp’ – e.g. Add one tsp of sugar
These letters can help Christians remember different ways to pray to God.
- Thank you
- Sorry
- Please
Today, see if you can make up your own prayer based on this. Sometimes it can be easy to forget to say sorry for the things we have done wrong, so I find this a helpful way to remember. If you get stuck, I’ve made one below:
Dear God,
Thank you for all those who look after and love us. Thank you for all the doctors and nurses who are taking care of people in hospital and at home.
Sorry for all the times I have been unkind to my brother/sister/friend, help me to be generous and share.
Please help all those people who are poorly with the virus, help them to get better soon.
Amen
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.
