Tuesday 14th July
Good morning!
In order to follow government guidelines, we will not be setting for maths in September. As you have been setting for the last few years, we would like to take this opportunity to see if there are any gaps in your learning that we need to address before starting the Year 6 curriculum. As you have been off school for over 3 months, we understand that there are probably a few areas of maths that you may have forgotten, so we will spend some time in term 1 revising key concepts.
Our first topic is place value, which is arguably the most important area of maths as it ties in closely to all of the other number work that we do. So that we know which areas we need to revise, we would like you to complete the 20 questions on the sheet below. These questions cover the place value topics from Year 3, 4 and 5, so they get a little bit trickier as the sheet progresses. Please, please, please complete this work independently, without adult support, so that we know exactly which areas we need to focus on. If an adult does help you with a question, make sure you tell us next to your answer.
Please e-mail us with your answers so we can see how you have done!
