25th June 2020

It's Thursday, 25th June 2020.

Hello everyone, it’s Mr Keep here.

May the Lord be with you.

We are Bishop Ridley, we are One Community, Learning & Growing Together, Sharing the Love of God.

This week we are thinking about the Christian Value of Love. Today, we’re going to do a short art activity. If you would like to do this, you need a piece of paper/card and some pens/pencils.

Our Bible passage for today

Our song for today is one that we introduced a week ago called “All through History”.

All Through History (Official Lyric Video) - Nick & Becky Drake // Worship For Everyone

Our thought for the day

This morning, we are going to begin by watching this short collective worship from the Oak National Academy and the Church of England about Love.  After this, we're going to do a short art activity, Enjoy!

Faith At Home - Collective Worship for Primary Schools - Episode Three: Love

This week's Faith at Home episode explores the theme of LOVE - with input from Imam Asim Hafiz OBE exploring Muslim approaches to faith at home, and celebrat...

Look at this image, what does it make you think of?

How can we give love away? How might this make us feel?

You might like to take part in this prayer activity as you think about all those you love and what actions you can use to show your love. Draw around your hands and then cut them out, but keep the two hands joined together.

Can you see the heart in the middle of the two hands?

Write the names of people you love on each hand. This could be family or friends. Use this as a reminder of people that you love.

Reflection Time

I wonder if you could write a couple more names on your cut out hands of people that you might find harder to love, could you ask God to help you share your love further?

A prayer for today

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.
