Week 1 - 10/1/25
To Parents and Carers of Armstrong Class and George Class,
Miss Carr and I would like to say a big thank you for the cards and presents we received before the Christmas half term. We are overwhelmed with your kindness and generosity.
We hope you had a good Christmas and we would like to send our best wishes for the New Year.
Homework:
This week we have been looking at figurative language (onomatopoeia, alliteration, personification and similes) as next week the children will be writing their own poem about Fireworks. Therefore, for this week's homework, we would like the children to use their creative writing skills. Please see the sheet below for the instructions for the task.
Please do not feel the need to print the sheet. The children can put their 20 words and sentences into their orange homework book. The children can also create their own firework pictures into their books using colouring pencils if they wish.
To do list:
- Read your school book (try to aim for at least 10 minutes per day)
- Practise your times tables ready for next week’s test (Wednesday)
- Practise 'week 2' spellings for next week’s spelling test (Friday)
- Complete your English homework into your orange English book (due Tuesday)
