English
Good morning year 3! We made it to Friday!
This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and theme is kindness – never more important than in these tricky times. The intention is to encourage everyone to carry out two acts of kindness a day – one for someone else and one for themselves.
I thought it would be lovely to have this as our English focus for today.
With this in mind, I have a selection of light, fun tasks and activities that the children can choose between (listed below). All of these are designed for them to focus on their wellbeing, self esteem and kindness (both towards others and themselves). You can do whichever of these and as many as you would like...
- Carry out two acts of kindness – one for someone else and one for yourself.
- Do something that makes you feel happy and calm.
- Spend some time outside. Really listen and look around - slow down and take notice.
- Things to look forward to jar (see below) - this is a lovely task and keep sake.
- Write a letter to someone you don't get to see at the moment.
- Write a diary entry of how you are feeling during lockdown.
- Gratitude bubbles activity (see below).
- Be kind to yourself task (see below).
There is also a wellbeing PowerPoint for you below which is a lovely way to start talking about this with the children.
We hope you have a wonderful and relaxing half term break.
