10th July 2020 - Celebration Worship
Welcome. It's Friday, 10th July 2020.
Good morning, everyone. May the Lord be with you.
We are Bishop Ridley, we are One Community, Learning & Growing Together, Sharing the Love of God.
Our song for today is called I Won’t Be Afraid
Our Bible passage for today is Matthew 28:20
...And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
Celebration Worship
During this lockdown period, we recognise that each family has different pressures and different abilities to support children with their learning. The Pupils of the Week are chosen by the teachers to acknowledge our Christian Values. Sometimes they select a child to celebrate a particularly impressive piece of work, sometimes to celebrate a child who has shown determination and sometimes to give a boost to a child who might be finding things tough.
Please see this as a chance to stay together as a community and celebrate positive messages for the children during a difficult time.
Please join us in celebrating our Pupils of the Week.
Nursery
The Nursery Team have chosen Charlotte for the value of kindness. She is always ready to help her teachers and her friends.
Reception
Mrs Kenway has selected Oliver E for endurance. Oliver has worked hard with his handwriting and it is beginning to pay off. He is making good progress.
Mr Nicholls says, “This week, we would like to nominate Noah and Emilija for the values of Service and Wisdom. Thank you for working so hard on your learning (both in school and out) during this period. It has been a pleasure to see your progress! You have been kind, respectful and dedicated! Well done!”
Year 1
Miss Carr has chosen Isaac for Pupil of the Week for the value of endurance. “Throughout the whole of the home learning period he has worked extremely hard to undertake his work, even when he has found it to be quite tricky. I have been very impressed by his ability to take on board the feedback provided to him to in order to challenge himself to meet his potential.”
Mr Murphy has chosen Joey and Grace for service. “Over the last couple of weeks they have both been very helpful to me when setting up the classroom and putting resources away.”
Year 2
Mrs Coles says, “I would like to nominate Aarav for the value of Hope; his engagement with Home Learning has been fantastic but I have also loved reading his daily emails. They are full of positivity and enthusiasm for life in general and that has been lovely to experience.“
Mrs Horlock say, “I would like to nominate Noah for the value of Trust. I can trust that he will consistently show a positive attitude towards all opportunities and a belief that everything will work itself out.”

Miss Smalley has nominated all of the children for submitting their work from Elizabeth class throughout the lock down period. Miss Smalley is full of praise for the children’s diligent attitude to continuing to learn in these unprecedented times and she is immensely proud of them all!
Mrs Greenhead says, “I am nominating the whole class for demonstrating a mix of Christian Values throughout Lock Down; showing commitment, gratitude, kindness and fellowship. They have worked together and shown that we really are one community.
This week especially, Coco L for the Christian Value of Kindness and fellowship. Coco has happily supported and encouraged her fellow peers consistently and shown a great deal of maturity while doing so.”
Year 4
Miss Sears has chosen the whole of Moore Class for the values of Wisdom, Endurance and Friendship.
“Although I have been in school more often, and unable to respond to their work as frequently as I had been, I have been so impressed with much they are still engaged with their work, the quality of the work still being produced and still keeping me updated with what they have been getting up to. They have been a lovely class to work with and have made me very proud with their attitude to home learning-well done!”
Mrs Torrance has chosen Isabella N for her endurance and enthusiasm in engaging with all the home learning tasks and consistently producing work of a good standard, in particular her excellent Power Points.
Year 5
Mrs Gorin has selected Stanley F and Beaukiki for the Christian values of Wisdom and Perseverance. I have been very impressed with Stanley's and Beaukiki's consistency, hard work and excellent effort. I have also received a wonderful video of Stanley's topic work where he acts out as a reporter presenting many interesting facts which he has learnt during our last term. You can take a look at it on our Year 5 web page.
Mr Martindale says, “My pupil of the week this week is Seb. I would like to pick him for the values of compassion and kindness. He always completes his work to a high standard and was very kind in saying how much he enjoyed being in my class.”
Year 6
Mr Catchpole and Miss Facey have each chosen the whole of Year 6, saying, “This week we am nominating all of Hawking & Pankhurst class for showing the values of friendship and endurance. This has been a difficult year for them, but their dedicated attitude towards work and their determination to succeed have been really inspiring to see. We know that they will all do amazing things in their future and wish them all luck as they head off to secondary school in September. We can't wait to see them all next week to say goodbye to them properly.”

A prayer for today
For your prayer today, why not listen to this version of the Lord’s Prayer and think about the meaning of the words we pray. Think about what you would like to say “thanks”, “sorry” and “please” about.

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.
