Today we have two exciting maths activities for you.  Firstly, after beating Year 6 two weeks on the run, we are going to change things this week.  The Battle of the Bands this week will be between Curie Class and Armstrong Class.  The Battle will start at 9am today and will run until 3pm.  So, during this time, make sure you log on and take part in any game to score points for your class.  Which class will be victorious?

 

Secondly, I have put a PDF of a Year 5 arithmetic test.  At this time of year, we usually start giving out these tests on a Friday as they are great preparation for Year 6.  This test should take 15 minutes and is probably best if you have the PDF on screen and write down the answers on paper.  Although this is an arithmetic test, you can use written methods to solve any of the answers.  All of the questions we should have covered this year.

 

As this is the first test, time yourself and see how long it takes to answer all of the questions.  At the bottom of the test, the answers are provided, so make sure you don't look first.  When you have finished, mark your test and email your teacher with your score (out of 16) and the time it took you to complete the test.
