Happy Friday everyone!!  Well done to all of you for your excellent progress on shapes this week.  We have been really impressed with your work on the properties of 2D and 3D shapes.  

 

Today's Fun Friday Challenge is a....

 

Shape Scavenger Hunt!!!!  

 

You were all so fantastic with your scavenger hunts last week that we couldn't resist setting you another one this week!  So your mission if you choose to accept it is again in 2 parts.  Each part is to be timed for 10 minutes. 

 

• The first 10 minute scavenger hunt is '2D shapes'.  You have 10 minutes to search around your house, garden or classroom to find as many of the different 2D shapes as you can.

 

• The second 10 minute scavenger hunt is '3D shapes'.  You have 10 minutes to search around your house, garden or classroom to find as many of the different 3D shapes as you can.

 

What shapes were the easiest/hardest to find?

 

You can either just write a tally of your total for each or write the items that you find on either the sheet or a piece of paper.  I have created a Word document with the list of shapes to look for.  You can use this as a reference or to write on - it is up to you!  Do whatever is easiest for you - just have fun!

 

We loved seeing pictures of this last week and all of the creative places that you found Maths!  This is just a fun learning task for you so we don't want you to stress about it.  Just have some fun and focus on the different shapes around you.  We can't wait to hear how you get on but you do not need to send any specific paperwork on this to us!  I have included a couple of fun reminder videos if you need them!  Enjoy!
