Welcome back! Our themes this term will be 'Build It Up' and 'Creep, Crawl and Wiggle'.
The children will be exploring building and construction by comparing different materials to make houses, bridges and assault courses. There will also be a DT afternoon for parents to join us in the classroom.
We will be off on our school trip to link with our second theme of mini beasts and in June we will be welcoming the Wiggly Wild show. The children will be observing and learning about life cycles, finding them in the outside area and looking closely at the way they move.
We will be focussing on reading for pleasure and retelling stories with puppets, masks and props. We will also look for rhyming words and sing songs that relate to our themes.
We will be continuing our 'Fine Motor Mondays' in order to further develop our skills for early mark making and writing. In PE and in the outdoor area we will develop our gross motor skills through aiming and throwing, catching and moving in different ways. Both of these proved very popular last time as the children look for imaginative ways to use these skills.
