18th June 2020
It's Thursday, 18th June 2020.
Hello everyone, it’s Mr Keep here.
May the Lord be with you.
We are Bishop Ridley, we are One Community, Learning & Growing Together, Sharing the Love of God.
This week we are going to be thinking about the Christian Value of Courage.
Our Bible verse for today is Micah 6 v 8
“…the Lord has told us what is good.
What he requires of us is this:
• to do what is just,
• to show constant love, and
• to live in humble fellowship with our God.”
Our song for today
“All through History” by Nick and Becky Darke is a Christian song about God’s faithfulness in giving his people courage in times of need.
Our thought for the day
Think about this image and these words. I wonder what you think they might mean?
I wonder if there have been times over the last few weeks where this has been your experience?
Christians believe that they are being courageous by living as God calls them to be. In our verse above, it explains what God requires Christians to do - to be just, to love mercy and to walk humbly with.
I wonder what this verse from the Bible might mean for you? I wonder how we can act justly, show mercy and walk humbly just now in our families, in our school, in our community at this time?
Reflection Time
Take a few minutes to think about the verse from Micah. You could focus on the idea of “showing constant love” to people. This matches closely with our school vision of “sharing the Love of God.”
How could you do this in your life to the people around you?
Our prayer for today
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.
