Monday 25th January

Good morning Year 4! We hope that you and your families are all well and that you were able to get outside and enjoy some fresh air and SNOW at the weekend!

***Curie Class - please remember that Mrs Gorin does not work on Mondays, so please send your hard work to Mrs Ellis to review and respond to***

MATHS - Counting squares to find the area of a 2D shape

Today we are going to continue finding the area of a 2D shape and we are going to do so by counting squares and also by using our multiplication knowledge to find the area of a rectangular 2D shape quickly. We are confident that you will do well today, but remember to only answer what you can if you are finding anything a struggle or to let your teacher know by email that you would like some help if you are struggling to understand independently and would still like to complete the work. Good luck (we are very impressed with your knowledge of area so far).

We are having one last lesson on apostrophes today. I know that some of your found this particularly tricky last week, but well done for doing your absolute best. This week is a bit easier as we are going to be like apostrophe detectives and spot the mistakes. Watch and engage with the teaching video and online activity, then choose a worksheet based on your confidence, but that will still give you a challenge. Again, if you can write the sentences out, it will be a great way to practice your handwriting.
