Monday 22 June
Hello everyone and welcome to another week of fun home learning!
How are you getting on with Times Tables Rock Stars? Do you fancy entering a competition? If so, read on...
As part of our commitment to make maths exciting and high profile in our school, we are taking part in a friendly competition involving schools from Greater London from Monday 22nd June to Friday 26th June. The competition is called 'London Rocks 2020' and will take place on the Times Tables Rock Stars website.
For every correct answer to a multiplication or division question, you will earn your class a point. The Times Tables Rock Stars platform will calculate the class average (the number of correct answers per pupil in the class who play during the competition hours). Winning classes in the school and in the competition as a whole will be the ones with the highest average and prizes will be available to pupils in the top 3 schools.
All game modes (Gig, Garage, Studio, etc.) will count but only from games played between 2pm and 7pm on Monday 22nd, Tuesday 23rd, Wednesday 24th, Thursday 25th and Friday 26th June.
Though the competition is open for 5 hours a day, we suggest you spend no longer than half an hour a day taking part; remember to look after your mental health and make sure you get plenty of fresh air! Good luck if you enter.
THANK YOU FOR ALL OF THE LOVELY PHOTOS THAT WE HAVE RECEIVED OF YOUR CHILDREN SMARTLY DRESSED IN THEIR UNIFORMS: IT MUST HAVE BEEN A STRANGE EXPERIENCE FOR THEM. WE CANNOT BELIEVE HOW MUCH THEY HAVE GROWN AND THEY ARE ALL LOOKING SO WELL. IF YOU HAVEN'T MANAGED TO SEND A PHOTO OF YOUR CHILD TO THEIR TEACHER YET AND YOU WOULD LIKE THEM TO BE INCLUDED IN THEIR 2019/2020 CLASS PHOTO, PLEASE SEND THE IMAGE YOU WOULD LIKE INCLUDED TO YOUR CHILD'S TEACHER BY THE END OF THIS WEEK.
We are continuing to work alongside our text for this topic: The Firework Maker's Daughter by Phillip Pullman and we are also continuing to learn about fractions.
We are also setting some exciting topic work about volcanoes for you to do.
Enjoy!
