To celebrate World Book Day, we have a few special things for you to do today.
BBC Live Lesson
At 11:30am today, there will be a special live lesson for World Book Day which can be accessed here.
If you would like to complete the activity sheet as you watch, you can download and print it from here.
Author & Illustrator Academy
The World Book Day authors and illustrators for 2021 have grouped together to create some amazing masterclass videos for you to enjoy. There are lots for you to choose from and you can access them at a time that suits you from here.
We hope that you enjoy dressing up as your favourite book character today. Remember that this can be a character that you have designed yourself. We would love to see your costumes so please send a photo to the school office at: firstname.lastname@example.org so that these can be shared with everybody on the school website.
Good afternoon Year 6! I hope you are all having a great week so far :)
This week we are going to be continuing with our research about WW2. I will repost last weeks lesson underneath in case you need to recap. Please get as much done as you can today as when we return to school we will begin writing our scripts ready for recording our films. Please can I also ask that you send today's work to me by tomorrow morning at the latest so I can print off your research ready for you :)
Have a great Thursday everyone, I can't wait to see you all next week!
Miss Constant x
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be researching different parts of World War 2 so that when we return to school, we can begin filming our own documentaries/films/news reports on the iPads. You may work on this project individually or as a pair if you wish but if you do choose to work in a pair then I would need to know from both of you by the end of today who you have chosen to partner up with. Please also know that once you have chosen your partner, they will be your partner for the duration of the term (of course if you would prefer to work alone then that is absolutely fine too!).
So... over the next 2 weeks the aim of our lessons will be to gather as much information about the various elements of World War 2 as possible. At this stage, you should research one (or more if you like!) of the following areas:
Before starting your research, consider the following questions:
Hello Year 6 I hope you are all having a good week and looking forward to coming back to school next week.
Because our sport focus for this term is rounders I would like you to look at the video below to help improve your throwing skills and please could you look at the document below to help improve your striking skills.
Have fun and see you next week.
Lois has kindly sent a photograph of her great grandfather who fought in World War 2. There are also photographs of his Soldier's Release Book for you to look at. Thank you for sharing these with us, Lois!
