Dressing Up!
We hope that you enjoy dressing up as your favourite book character today. Remember that this can be a character that you have designed yourself. We would love to see your costumes so please send a photo to the school office at: admin@bishop-ridley.bexley.sch.uk so that these can be shared with everybody on the school website.

Good afternoon Year 6! I hope you are all having a great week so far :)
This week we are going to be continuing with our research about WW2. I will repost last weeks lesson underneath in case you need to recap. Please get as much done as you can today as when we return to school we will begin writing our scripts ready for recording our films. Please can I also ask that you send today's work to me by tomorrow morning at the latest so I can print off your research ready for you :)
Have a great Thursday everyone, I can't wait to see you all next week!
Miss Constant x
Over the next couple of weeks, we will be researching different parts of World War 2 so that when we return to school, we can begin filming our own documentaries/films/news reports on the iPads. You may work on this project individually or as a pair if you wish but if you do choose to work in a pair then I would need to know from both of you by the end of today who you have chosen to partner up with. Please also know that once you have chosen your partner, they will be your partner for the duration of the term (of course if you would prefer to work alone then that is absolutely fine too!).
So... over the next 2 weeks the aim of our lessons will be to gather as much information about the various elements of World War 2 as possible. At this stage, you should research one (or more if you like!) of the following areas:
- When and why did Chamberlain declare war on Germany? How did he address the country and what did he say? How do you think people felt?
- The evacuation process - where were children sent and why? How did they feel? How did their parents feel?
- What was daily life like for men, women and children at the beginning of the war? What roles did they have?
Before starting your research, consider the following questions:
- What is the purpose of your film? Will it be a news report or a documentary?
- Will it cover one specific aspect of World War 2 or several different aspects?
- Will your film target an older or younger audience?
PE with Mr E
Hello Year 6 I hope you are all having a good week and looking forward to coming back to school next week.

Have fun and see you next week.
Mr E
If you don't have a racket or bat then please use either your hands or saucepans (please get permission from your adult before you use any saucepans). If you don't have a ball then please use rolled up socks or rolled up paper. If it gets too easy then please move the targets further away.
Photos
Lois has kindly sent a photograph of her great grandfather who fought in World War 2. There are also photographs of his Soldier's Release Book for you to look at. Thank you for sharing these with us, Lois!
