20th May 2020
It's Wednesday 20th May 2020.
Hello everyone. It’s Mr Keep here.
May the Lord be with you.
We are Bishop Ridley, we are One Community, Learning & Growing Together, Sharing the Love of God.
Our song for today is
One More Step Along the World We Go. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PXV3dwaeNU
Our Bible verse for today is Ecclesiastes 3:4
There is a time for everything …‘ a time to weep and a time to laugh,’
Our thought for the day
The Bible text above comes from a famous passage called ‘A time for everything’ It describes how in life there is a place for everything; for hate, for love, for mourning, for wars and for peace.
You might know people who are crying because they are sad, This is ok. Some people feel embarrassed to cry in front of others, but we all need to cry and be sad sometimes.
During the lockdown, you might know some people who are laughing because someone they know has got better. This can be a source of great relief – and you might even see people crying because they are happy.
Since the lockdown was changed recently, you might have been able to see more of the people that you love (from a distance!).
I wonder how you are feeling today? Have a think for a minute,
I wonder how you can create laughter today to support someone who is sad. It doesn’t need to be a joke, but it could be that you share a memory about the person they are sad about, or find some pictures to remember happier times. Adults often have so many photos on there phones that it can be really easy to look back to a time before the lockdown.
Can you remember a really happy time that you can share with someone in your household? Bringing a smile to someone’s face is really important. Keep laughing and keep remembering.
A prayer for today
Dear God,
Thank you for your gifts to us. Help us to remember the gifts of love and laughter.
We pray for those people who are sad at the moment. We pray for your peace and warmth in their heart.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.
