We hope you enjoyed reading the first myth for our topic on Gods and Mortals.  Today, we will continue to look at the story of Pandora's Box.  Look at the story again (either from yesterday's video, the comprehension exercise or from today's powerpoint):  Pandora was tempted to open the box and, as a result, terrible things began to happen.  If you were in Pandora's position, do you think you would be tempted to open the box?  

 

Your English task today is to write a paragraph explaining if you think we should show our Christian value of compassion towards Pandora for opening the box?  Consider the following points to help you:

 

• If it were you, would you be tempted to open it?
• Did Pandora regret opening the box? 
• Did any good come from her actions of opening the box?

 

Extension work:  write another paragraph explaining how this story can relate to what is happening in our world today.  Is the coronavirus a terrible thing that has been unleashed into the world?  It has certainly had a devastating affect on humans! However, do you think that any hope can come from it?
