RIP Captain Sir Tom 1920 - 2021 We have added a link to just a handful of people inspired by this wonderful man who sadly passed away on Tuesday. Tony Hudgell (who one of our classes is named after) might not have even tried to walk if it had not been for Captain Sir Tom! Click on the link to watch a short video that includes Tony and, if you want to see the full video of Tony, then click on the link beneath it and scroll to 2.49 to 2.54 (near the end of the 3 hr programme) to see the full 5 min interview on BBC Breakfast yesterday.
Dress to Express Yourself Day
Dress in a way to express yourself (parents are welcome to join in too!!) and send a picture of your child to admin@bishop-ridley.bexley.sch.uk . These will be shared on the “class pages” on the website so that children can see their friends and teachers expressing themselves!

MATHS - Equivalent fractions (2)
In this video, Mr Flack uses fraction strips to find equivalents but also begins to show us how we can find equivalent fractions by using our knowledge of our times tables. We recommend that you also watch the video below the White Rose video which shows the method of using your tables knowledge to find equivalent fractions by using your knowledge of factors. PLEASE ONLY ANSWER THE QUESTIONS ON THE WORKSHEET THAT YOU FEEL CONFIDENT WITH AND DO EMAIL YOUR TEACHER TO ASK FOR HELP IF YOU ARE STRUGGLING WITH YOUR INDEPENDENT LEARNING WITH FINDING EQUIVALENT FRACTIONS. 😉
Equivalent Fractions
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU WATCH THIS VIDEO BEFORE STARTING TODAY'S WORKSHEET TO FIND EQUIVALENT FRACTIONS: there are patterns to equivalent fractions eg 1/2 2/4 3/6 4/8
are all equivalent and the numerator goes up in ones, the denominator goes up in twos. Can you continue the sequences with the patterns found in equivalent halves and quarters (using your 2 and 4 times table knowledge)?
1/4 2/8 3/12 4/16
