Week 1 - 6/6/25
English homework
Over the next two to three weeks, the children will be writing their own narrative about the mythical story of Romulus and Remus (see the link below for the story). Therefore, this week, we would like the children to practise using inverted commas for direct speech which is a skill they have learnt this year.
We would like the children to watch the video below and come up with their own direct speech using inverted commas about the story of Remus and Romulus and write them into their English homework books. We are looking for at least 10 sentences using inverted commas.
For example: Romulus stated, "WOW, I think we should build our majestic, incredible city here!"
Times Tables
Next week, the children will continue to be tested on their square numbers. Therefore, please make sure your child is practising every day on times table rockstars or hit the button. They will also need to know the division facts too.
For example:
1 x 1 = 1 1 divided by 1 = 1
2 x 2 = 4 4 divided by 2 = 2
3 x 3 = 9 9 divided by 3 = 3
4 x 4 = 16 16 divided by 4 = 4
5 x 5 = 25 25 divided by 5 = 5
6 x 6 = 36 36 divided by 6 = 6
7 x 7 = 49 49 divided by 7 = 7
8 x 8 = 64 64 divided by 8 = 8
9 x 9 = 81 81 divided by 9 = 9
10 x 10 = 100 100 divided by 10 = 10
11 x 11 = 121 121 divided by 11 = 11
12 x 12 = 144 144 divided by 12 = 12
To do list:
- Read your school book (try to aim for at least 10 minutes per day)
- Practise your square numbers (and division facts) ready for our daily tests next week
- Complete your English homework into your orange homework book (Tuesday 10th June)
