W/B - 16.3.26
Maths homework – due in 24.3.26
In Maths, we are now coming to the end of our current topic on mass and capacity. In readiness for our new topic on fractions, we would like the children to recap their knowledge of their learning of this topic from Year 2, ready to progress onto Year 3 skills.
To do list:
- Read your school book (10 minutes per night)
- Practise your spellings (10 minutes per night)
- Practise your 2, 5, 10, 3, 4 and 8 times tables – using Times Tables Rock Stars
- Complete your Maths homework into your yellow Maths book (due Tuesday).
In Year 3, there is a huge emphasis on multiplication and related division facts for the 2, 5 and 10 times tables (consolidated from Year 2), as well as the 3, 4, and 8 times tables (introduced in Year 3)
This knowledge underpins the vast majority of the Year 3 Maths curriculum, and it is therefore important for the children to have instant recall of these multiplication and division facts.
As such, on Maths based homework weeks, the children will now also be set a times tables related piece of homework, which will complement their regular practise on Timetables Rockstars. Please do not feel the need to print these sheets out, as the children are able to complete their answers in their Maths homework books.
