HALF TERM - 24/10/25
To Parents and Carers,
We would like to thank you for your continuous support this term and hope to see that continue into the next part of the academic year. We are so proud of the children and their efforts so far and we are looking forward to seeing them after their well earned break.
Although we want the children to have a break, as we mentioned at Parents' evening, it is extremely important that the children are reading with an adult and practising their times tables daily in order to enhance their learning. Therefore, please could we remind you to do this over the half term.
Thank you again for your continuous support,
Miss Taylor, Miss Sears and Ms Cooper.
Homework:
Please make sure your child is practising their Year 4 speed spell which can be found in the 'Spelling and SpeedSpell folder' ready for the first Friday back (Friday 7th November)
Reading:
It is really important that the children are reading as much as possible (preferably daily). Please make a note each time your child has read at least 10 minutes so it goes towards their 100 reads to get a book from the vending machine. Once your child has finished their book, please remind them to put it in their class reading folder box so it can be changed if necessary.
Times tables
We will continue to use our maths programme 'Number sense' to prepare the children for the Year 4 multiplication check in June.
Please make sure your child is practising their 2x, 5x and doubles (division facts too) ready for our daily tests again next week.
To do list:
- Read your school book (try to aim for at least 10 minutes per day)
- Practise your doubles, 2 and 5x tables (and division facts) ready for our daily tests after half term
- Practise your speed spell
