The Governing Body of Bishop Ridley C of E Primary

The Governing Body is a committed group of people made up of parents, church nominees, appointees of the Local Authority and school staff.  They are a diverse group who are able to bring a variety of experience and skills to the running of our school.

The Governing Body is the employer of all staff working at the school and has ultimate responsibility for what happens in the school. Its role includes having to make important decisions about how the school is run. It meets at least once a term as a whole body, as well as in smaller committees and working groups at other times during the term. We have a Curriculum Working Group that looks at all aspects of teaching and learning in the school. The Finance and General Purposes Committee deals with the budget and all matters to do with the building and premises. The Staffing Committee makes decisions about the staffing levels and deployment of staff. Other committees are constituted from time to time as the necessity arises (eg. Admissions, Head Teacher's Appointment, Exclusion Appeals).
