6th July 2018
Dear Parents & Carers,
OFSTED Inspection Outcome: Good
On 19th July, Bishop Ridley Primary School was inspected by Ofsted. The governors and I are pleased to officially announce that our school was graded as Good.
Since my appointment in September 2017, the school has been through some big changes. I would like to thank my staff and you, as families of the school, for your support during this time.
The inspector and I agreed upon a number of key themes for the inspection and I was able to evidence the impact of the improvements which have been made during the year. The report also comments that safeguarding is effective and that, with my leadership team, we have an accurate understanding of the strengths of the school and what needs to be better.
I was also pleased that he was able to acknowledge that Bishop Ridley is a “nurturing school” with a “caring ethos” and that “the behaviour of pupils around the school is calm and polite”.
The governors and I are pleased that the next steps for development are areas that we are already focusing on. These are explained in more detail in the report.
Thank you to all of you who took the time to complete the Parent View questionnaire and to speak to the inspector during the inspection.
I am confident that, with the support of governors, staff and families, we continue to move towards being a truly excellent school.
Head Teacher and on behalf of Chris Bartlett (Chair of Governors)
