Reception

Reception Curriculum

Outlined below is the curriculum your child will follow in Reception. We hope that it will be of use to you when discussing school with your child and looking for ways in which you can support them at home.

In previous years the Reception year group have covered the nine subjects of the National Curriculum e.g. Geography, History, Maths, etc.  However, since the government have introduced an Early Years Foundation Stage children will be taught ‘areas’ of learning

These are:

  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Communication, language and literacy
  • Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy
  • Knowledge and understanding of the world
  • Physical development
  • Creative development
